Santo Antão is an island of stone. Much of the island is covered by stone made of lava flows from 200,000 years ago. The decision to cover Moon with lava stone was made to reflect the island and also to harness the powerful energy of the stone. Lava stone is said to alleviate anxiety, bring calmness, and cleanse negative thoughts and emotions.

Though there are many different colors and types of stone on Santo Antão, the founder of Moon has taken an exhaustive search around the entire island to select high vibrational stone that is in harmony with the Moon structure and surrounding nature. These stones will be used for the walls, bungalows, and outer walkway areas.

Especially for the Moon Infinity Pool, special limestone is being sourced from India that will tie all of the stones together. Like lava, limestone is formed underground; however, limestone is made from shells that have been compressed and strengthened by water. Just as the energy we surround ourselves with is an important component of our wellbeing, limestone is known for encouraging and amplifying healing and promoting positivity.
