February Wood

February 8, 2025
Moon Construction

Highlights

Happy Lunar New Year of the Wood Snake! This combination represents transformation, growth, and resilience. It’s fitting that we paused painting to begin the new year with the installation of the wood frames and doors for each bungalow at Moon. The rich mahogany wood, chosen for its durability and beauty, has already added a new dimension, warmth, and depth to Moon.

Just as a tree requires sunlight, water, and soil, building depends on the vision, materials, and people. Finding the right carpenter was such an important aspect of the project that the Moon team decided to take the extraordinary step of hiring a carpenter from the neighbor island, which adds considerable complexity and cost, to bring the vision to life. When we met Joseph, incidentally the Patron Saint of Carpenters, we were immediately impressed by his calm vibe and excellent craftsmanship and we knew he was the right choice for Moon. As Joseph now installs his wooden works of art at Moon, you can feel the care and calm with which each piece of mahogany was crafted and we are thankful. The stunning result far outweighs the challenge.

Resilience is the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties, and it’s a necessary component for transformation and growth. Knowing that this new year will bring its own set of challenges, we are inspired to share the following Zen proverb: The obstacle is the path. You will be supported on your path, and we continue to create a calm space for you to rest, relax, and recharge here at Moon. We look forward to seeing you soon!
